Abstract
The authors give a brief description of their excavations and findings at Rehman Dheri. The main focus of the document is how areas outside of the central Indus Valley began the process of urbanization and social complexity later seen in the core. The peripheral areas had earlier settlements, settlement hierarchies, craft traditions, and trade networks. Also, they were in more varied environments and maintained their own regional character throughout the Early and Mature Indus traditions.
