The heroes of each, Arjuna and Odysseus, show many similarities and the author proposes that they arose from the same proto-hero of an oral proto-narrative. The proto-myth was probably a shamanistic journey that was acted out in a ritual, partly to explain and justify ancestral yogic practices. %K Indus civilization %K Vedic %K Late Harappan %K Vedic period %K Comparative evidence %K Verbal arts %K Mythology %K Historical reconstruction %K Shamans and psychotherapists %K Ritual %U https://ehrafarchaeology.yale.edu/document?id=aq47-002 %P 1-20 %[ 2022-08-08
