In the Amatzinac region it appears the Teotihuacan state colonized the area as evidenced by the influx of Teotihuacan-style ceramics, the change in settlement patterns, agricultural intensification, and Teotihuacan offerings in burial assemblages. This area is along a natural trade corridor. In Coatlan there are fewer Teotihuacan-style ceramics, what does appear came later, and changes in settlement patterns suggest Teotihuacan deliberately decentralized the population to reduce the level of social complexity in that region.}, note = {Kenneth Hirth, Jorge Angulo Villase{\~{n}}or}, note = {LOC search performed 7/21/08; obtained on-line; pages: 19; ready for analysis 7/23/08; analysis completed February 2009}, note = {Includes bibliographical references}, issn = {0093-4690}, url = {https://ehrafarchaeology.yale.edu/document?id=nu92-008}, language = {English} note = {Accessed on: 2021-01-28} }
