This is a survey of some of the major features of
the Classic period occupation at Chalcatzingo, Mexico. The architecture
described consists of two small pyramid mounds facing a plaza, associated wall
and platform construction, and a ball court to the north of the plaza.
Excavations at the site also turned up several Classic period lime kilns, and
three burials. Material on the Postclassic period which was included in this
document has not been indexed with OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) codes
since the time frame involved is outside the provenance of the Classic
