Abstract
This is part of a larger work on neolithic cultures of the Shandong region. The section included here is a review of 17 Dawenkou sites which were excavated between 1957 and 1989. The review also examines the various stages and periods of Dawenkou culture discussing the style changes of ceramic untensils and stone and bone tools. An overall discussion of the Dawenkou economy, technology, and social structure is also given.
