Abstract
This is a Dawenkou site report of an excavation at Jianxin village 18 kilometers outside of Zaozhuang City in southern Shandong province. The excavation uncovered house foundations (27), ash pits (208), graves (92), a kiln, and a well. The report describes in detail each of the above findings and classifies around 1,000 utensils, tools, and ornaments by type, style, and period. Faunal and floral (pollen) remains are also analyzed. The report includes numerous diagrams, an extensive inventory, and 80 plates of photographs. The site is from the late-middle and late Dawenkou periods.
