Dendera in the third millennium B.C., down to the Theban domination of upper Egypt

By: Fischer, Henry George.

Abstract
Fischer discusses various texts, most of which were found in the Dendera cemetery. He discusses how to translate the hieroglyphics and their possible meanings. The information (mostly inscriptions from the tombs of officials) describe the burial's owner's titles. One can glean from this data on the governing of Egypt, the cult of Hathor, and a little about the city of Dendera. One interesting tidbit that Fischer points out is that hieroglyphics were not the same throughout Egypt even within the same time period.
