By: Walthall, John A..
Abstract
Walthall presents a summary of Copena and Porter, particularly what traits they share with Hopewell. He also describes the possible items that might have been traded north. 'There is little evidence for intensive or continuous trade between Ohio Hopewell and Copena. Hopewell influence on Southeastern populations appears to have been intermittent, centered mainly around the diffusion of specialized artifact styles and mortuary ideology.' (page 205).
