Abstract
Goad examines interregional exchange of copper in the southeast looking at Copena, Santa Rosa-Swift Creek, Crystal River, St. Johns, and Middle Woodland Georgia sites. The source of the copper from these sites was determined. 'Of the 27 major interaction sphere raw materials [found in the southeast] (excluding obsidian), only copper, galena, and fresh water pearls are truly exotic, and of these Southeastern copper was sporadically used.' (page 245). Goad also found the Tunacunnhee site was only infrequently involved in interregional trade and that exchange between the Great Lakes-Riverine area and the southeast was sporadic. Only the data pertaining to possible Hopewell exchange items or artifacts were indexed for OCM (Outlline of Cultural Materials) subjects.
