By: Pacheco, Paul J. (Paul Joe).

Abstract
Pacheco 'summarizes the hypotheses, research strategy, results, and conclusions of a five-year study … in the Licking River Valley…' (page 42). Although Pacheco spent five years in the field only the two years the students were in the field are listed in this chapter. Pacheco found Early Archaic to Late Prehistoric artifacts during the 30 ha siteless survey. As the non-Middle Woodland peoples seemed to prefer Upper Mercer and Columbus-Delaware cherts, Pacheco only analyzed the Vanport and Wyandotte chert artifacts. He concludes the data represent several generations, five household areas, short-term activity areas, and a specialized camp.
