Abstract
Drennan and Rafael Vásquez Cruz, a vigilante for the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, conducted a survey of a 650 kilometer square tract of the mountains just north of the Etla arm of the Oaxaca valley, near the towns of San Francisco Telixtlahuaca and San Juan del Estado. The earliest remains found date to the Monte Albán Early I phase. Drennan provides brief descriptions of the remains found and compares them to what was occurring in the valley at the same time period. Only the remains dating to the Rosario through Monte Albán IIIA phases were marked for OCM codes (Outline of Cultural Materials).
