Abstract
This is a detailed report on the stratigraphy of Cuello, including building chronology, ceramic evidence, and radiocarbon dates for each of 21 phases and subphases. The report includes a 'floor plan' of each phase, architectural illustrations of each building stage, and cross-sections of the stratigraphy at three locations. Hammond reports on the 80 radiocarbon dates obtained from Cuello. Pre-1977 dates indicate a 'long chronology' for Cuello from 2000-200 B.C., whereas Post-1977 dates indicate an original settlement date of 1200/1100 B.C. Kosakowsky and Pring examine the site's ceramic typology and chronology, which includes Swasey (1200-900 B.C.), Bladen (900-600 B.C.), Mamon (600-300 B.C.), and Chicanel (250 B.C.-250 A.D.)
