Abstract
This document provides an overview of Upper Paleolithic material culture and economy in both North and South China, describing the main sites and their environmental settings (including Liujiacha, Shiyu, Shuidonggou, Xiachuan, Xiaonanhai, and Xueguan). [The authors date the site of Salawusu to 50,000-37,000 BP; newer evidence indicates it pertains wholly to the Middle Paleolithic.]
