Abstract
The authors collected and examined pollen and shell samples from soil profiles (dating from the Dadiwan to Xindian phases, and mainly along the Sujiawan section west of Dingxi, Gansu) as evidence for environmental change in the western Loess Plateau, finding correspondences to cultural changes during the Qijia subtradition of the Late Neolithic.
