Abstract
This document provides an overview of Longshan culture in six distinct regions of Shandong, describing the differences in the physical environment, the research that has been done, settlement systems and settlement hierarchies, economic activity, diet, craft production, exchange, political organization, and elite control of certain trades such as jade. The author describes changes in greater detail for the Tonglin site, a city and regional center in northern Shandong.
