By: Jarrige, Jean-Francois.

Abstract
The author presents evidence for an unbroken cultural sequence in the Greater Indus Valley from the Neolithic into the Mature Indus, and for links between communities in Baluchistan and those in southeastern Iran and Afghanistan. These contacts become stronger around 5000 BP, with indications Balochistan was more advanced technically in many crafts and was a dynamic player in the development of the Indus civilization. Field dates given for Mehrgarh are 1974-1987; 1986-1987 for Nausharo.
