Abstract
The author compares faunal remains from Harappa in Punjab, and from Mehrgarh and Nausharo in Balochistan, dating from the Indus Neolithic through Mature Indus periods. Differences between the regions suggest different breeds were favored. At Harappa, focus on a street on the south of Mound E shows periods when this portion of the site was actively kept clean and when it was used to dispose of refuse.
