Abstract
Rowlands and Warnier discuss the different kinds of smelting techniques and processes used by the people who inhabit the Ndop plain, Cameroons. They include a lengthy discussion of the associated ritual and magic. They also examine the archaeological sites and record of the 'glazed sherds' iron industry in the nearby Grassfields region.
