Abstract
This is an analysis of 170 fragments of charred vegetable remains from the Medjez II site. Couvert prepared 430 slices and examined them under the microscope. He identified species of ash, arbutus, hawthorn, willow, carob, oak, terebinth, fennel, pine, juniper, and cedar. The pattern of flora varies with the site's stratigraphy, indicating to Couvert a changing climate across the four phases of the Upper Capsian period.
