Abstract
Oates describes various stone objects from the fifth millenium BP (third millennium BC), with the majority of those described from the Akkadian period. The objects include figurines; stone vessels; possible stone weights; semi-precious stones that probably came from eastern Iran or Afghanistan; ornaments; a possible stone gaming board; many querns, mortars, and grinding stones; celts; maceheads; pigments; part of a potters' wheel; and a brief description of the chipped stone tools that will be more fully described in Volume 3. Numerous figures that illustrate the various objects described can be found in eHRAF document number 43.
