By: Sassaman, Kenneth E., Anderson, David G..

Abstract
Sassaman and Anderson put the second set of papers in perspective. They also stress that as the earliest inhabitants did not have the same geo-political boundaries that we have today, we should conduct more regional studies that cut across state lines. They discuss possible directions for future research.
