By: Gillam, J. Christopher.
Abstract
Gillam examined the site locations of the fluted points from northeastern Arkansas in relationship to natural resources such as soil and geological deposits, especially Crowley's Ridge chert. Most sites were located within 30 kilometers of the ridge. Gillam speculates the ridge may have been a cultural boundary for the groups living in the region. This document was not marked for OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) codes for the data that pertain to the Clovis period.
