Abstract
The author describes the artifacts and some of their manufacturing techniques that distinguish the Smelt Creek phase from other phases in the Norton tradition. The archaeology, features, and stratigraphy of the Smelt Creek phase at the Smelt Creek site and the Brooks River site are also discussed. Both appear to be temporary fishing camps.
