Abstract
In this review of the usefulness and distinctiveness of the Northern Archaic as a concept, the author compares sites defined as Northern Archaic (Palisades and Onion Portage) and as Arctic Small Tool (Denbigh Flint Complex), and revisits artifact distribution maps for four Northern Archaic phases at Onion Portage.
