Abstract
Wiant et al. describe and compare the stratigraphy of Napolean Hollow and Koster sites. Both sites are located on colluvial fans within the lower Illinois River Valley and show some of the same geologic processes were at work during their depositional histories. Wiant et al. try to show some of the implications that this Holocene depositional history holds for Archaic settlement patterns.
