Abstract
MacNeish compares other Archaic sites in the Jornada and in the Southwest and northern Mexico. He summarizes what is known about the various archaeological traditions in these regions and touches upon their similarities and differences. He is particularly interested in how corn arrived in the United States and where and when it was first grown.
