Abstract
MacNeish and Beckett describe their findings from the first three years of investigations in the Las Cruces area and south-central New Mexico. They provide a cultural summary for the Chihuahua Tradition that is composed of the following: Gardner Springs Complex, the Keystone Phase, the Fresnal Phase, and the Hueco Phase (6000 plus or minus 500 years BC to AD 250 plus or minus 200 years). They provide information on the projectile point types, the tools, subsistence practices, land use, and settlement systems.
