Abstract
Howard used the data from the Rowley Project at Park-of-the-Canals in Mesa, Arizona to examine 'Classic period sociopolitical organization and the irrigation community model. The predictions of large sites with public architecture, greater interaction in regional exchange, production and high-status burials have been met at Mesa Grande....Another important implication is the evidence of a three-level hierarchy.'
