Abstract
Wilkerson describes the archaeological findings from two sites in Veracruz. One is on the north bank of the Rio Tecolutla and the other is four kilometers away in the sandstone hills of the Tuxpan Formation. The stone tools, faunal remains (mostly shellfish), and stratigraphy are described. The Santa Luisa site appears to be a year-round settlement. The La Conchita site appears to have been a campsites near a water source. This site contains mostly stone tools. The two sites are compared to the Archaic Period Tehuacan tradition.
