Abstract
The author examines the [i]ulluchu[/i] fruit in art and archaeology as examples of the actual fruit have come to light at Sipán and Dos Cabezas. Despite being depicted as large, the fruit is only about three centimeters long. [i]Ulluchus[/i] are depicted in numerous places in the iconography and seem to have been important in many rituals. Although the genus has been determined, the species is still unknown.
