Abstract
Bragayrac presents a preliminary report of the archaeological excavations in the Vegachayoq Moqo sector of Huari. This sector consists of a religious structure with '…walls that form trapezoidal enclosures to create plazas around the mound …' (page 71). Found within this sector are altars, niches, and many burials. Bragayrac concludes '…that Huari was an urban capital of ceremonial character …' and that the Vegachayoq Moqo temple was so important '… that its followers carefully interred it in the final days that Huari was still functioning as an urban capital.' (page 80).
