Late Paleolithic Egypt

The tradition known as Late Paleolithic Egypt is found in the Nile Valley in Egypt and northern Sudan from 45,000 BP to 7,000 BP, with most of the dates falling between 21,000 BP and 10,000 BP. The people were gatherer-hunters and fishers whose seasonal round was geared toward the rise and fall of the Nile. There is repeated reuse of some sites. Some sites contain evidence of storage pits and pits that may have been used for smoking fish. Social organization probably consisted of small family or extended family groups.
