expand_more Description
The Upper Egypt Predynastic tradition extends from 7000 to 5000 BP. The boundaries for the Upper Egypt Predynastic shift from the Upper Nile valley in the beginning of the time period to encompass the entire Nile valley and Delta by the end of the time period. The people were sedentary, village-dwelling agriculturalists and fishers living in regional chiefdoms or simple states. Interregional trade and intragroup competition are important factors in the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt and the rise of the Egyptian state.
