Abstract
This paper describes the excavation of the site known as Kunjhun II, located in the Middle Son Valley in central India. The site is of some significance because it represents an area of special activity in which stone was subjected to high heat prior to its utilization as the basis for the manufacture of lithic artifacts. The authors describe the various lithic and ceramic finds at the site and discuss their importance in terms of the radiocarbon dates and what is known of the Vindhyan Neolithic tradition to which Kunjhun belongs.
