Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the archaeological research program of the University of Missouri in doing field work at the postclassic site of Tula in Mexico. Diehl, who was a member of the research team, describes the initial goals of the research team, and various impediments to the field work such as bureaucratic 'red tape', financing of the project, destruction of the project's archive by fire before final results could be obtained, and the turnover in project personnel that were exacerabated by the individualized field procedures used in 1970.
