The character and context of highland preceramic society

peruvian prehistory : an overview of pre-inca and inca societyCambridge [Cambridgeshire] • Published In 1988 • Pages: 3-40, 319-355

By: Rick, John W..

Abstract
Rick has 'chosen to treat the postglacial Central Andean Preceramic sychronically, as if there were no evolution of adaptations across the 7,500 years of time.' This is from his belief that the changes that occurred have not yet been well documented. Therefore, this source was marked as if all the data pertained to the time period for the Highland Andean Archaic. In this chapter, Rick emakes gerneral observations on settlement patterns, seasonality or the possible annual rounds for these groups, and possible interaction between the highland groups and the people on the coast and some of the lower highland valleys.
