Abstract
The authors collected samples from a range of ceramic containers found in a variety of contexts pertaining to the middle Longshan phase at Liangchengzhen, a regional center. Analysis on the residues extracted from the vessels provides evidence for their contents. It is proposed that the vessels were used in rituals and feasting, contributing to how elites increased their power.
