The authors review archaeological finds for the Late Shang period in Shanxi province, many of them isolated discoveries by farmers of bronzes. Some are Anyang-style bronzes, some show local influences, and others exhibit influences from the Northern Zone (the northern steppes of Eurasia). The authors are interested in why and how there was interregional interaction, from the perspectives of both the Shang at Anyang and the various peoples of Shanxi.
