Abstract
Banning summarizes the Neolithic period for the southern Levant from the Natufian to the Chalcolithic period. Only the data pertaining to the Aceramic Neolithic were indexed for OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) subjects. He summarizes previous research, settlement patterns, the environment, the various technologies, the economy, art, burial practices, social organization, and suggests future research.
