Abstract
Patty Jo Watson has written a brief overview of the Halaf culture. She states she wanted to 'summarize the curent state of archeological knowledge and anthropologically based speculation about the Halafian.' (page 231).She decribes the distribution of the sites known in 1982, what type of archaeological work had been done at which sites (survey or excavation), subsistence, and settlement patterns.
