The animal remains from Tell Sabi Abyad: square P14

excavations at tell sabi abyad: prehistoric investigations in the balikh valley, northern syriaOxford • Published In 1989 • Pages: 301-323

By: Wijngaarden-Bakker, Louise H. van.

Abstract
Van Wijngaarden-Bakker analyzed the faunal remains from the site. As in other chapters she also regrouped the data into seven phases (G-A) because of the small sample size of the identifiable remains. The data indicate the site had always been a sedentary settlement. Only the data that pertain to the Ceramic Neolithic (here termed Late Neolithic and Transitional Period; phases G and F) were marked for OCM codes (Outline of Cultural Materials codes). The data on the Halaf faunal remains were not marked for OCM codes as there is a separate eHRAF file on Halaf (M086).
