Abstract
The Guichards write of their fieldwork with Acheulean and Mousterian (Early and Middle Paleolithic) sites in the Wadi Halfa area. Only the Middle Paleolithic material was indexed for OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) subjects. They describe their findings and provide pictures of some of the numerous stone tools and cores found. No absolute dates are available for the Middle Paleolithic material and it has been dated by comparison with other collections. The analysis of the artifacts led the Guichards to propose three different facies for the Nubian Middle Paleolithic and that Nubia was a separate province from the rest of Africa and the Near East during the Middle Paleolithic period.
