The ceramic affiliations of the Ohio Valley Adena culture

Adena people, by William S. Webb and Charles E. Snow6 • Published In 1974 • Pages: 220-246

By: Griffin, James B..

Abstract
Griffin first compares Adena ceramic complexes from different Adena ritual sites within the Ohio Valley. He then explores the ceramic connections with other early ceramic using cultures in the eastern United States. The relationship between Adena and Hopewell ceramics is examined. And lastly Griffin looks at the problems with Adena dating. At the time this article was written, there had been no sites with stratigraphy that had been excavated in a scientific manner and so no sequence of Adena ceramics had been made.
