Abstract
Reid presents a synopsis of the history of Mogollon studies and of the Mogollon themselves. He includes a map of Mogollon sites in Arizona and New Mexico and a list of diagnostic characteristics. The Mogollon environment is described. 'The Arizona mountains final and most dramatic prehistoric occupation is best documented [by examining] the Grasshopper region…' (page 81). Reid then describes Grasshopper Pueblo including its community structure and organization, social inequality and complexity, exchange, and abandonment.
