By: Calnek, Edward E..
Abstract
Calnek uses archival sources to examine the settlement pattern and urbanization of Tenochtitlan and Tlatelolco. He looks at the immigrant population and the types of visitors to the city. The neighborhoods or [n]tlaxillacallis[/n] and subdivisions of the city (such as the tecpan or administrative palace) are examined. Residential sites and how they changed through the generations are also examined and briefly compared to Teotihuacan.
