Excavations in the Ajalpan locality in the Valley center

Excavations and reconnaissance, by R. S. MacNeish, et al5 • Published In 1972 • Pages: 161-218

Abstract
Most of this chapter is outside the time period for Highland Mesoamerican Archaic except for the last page. On that page the authors present a summary of the cultural sequence in the Ajalpan locality and describe the Coxcatlan and Abejas phases. They point out that San Nicolas, Tilapa, Coxcatlan, Garyito, and Abejas projectile points were found, indicating hunting during these times. Therefore, I have marked these projectile points for OCM subject codes (Outline of Cultural Materials codes) anytime the authors mention them, even though the points were found in strata dated to later time periods.
