Abstract
The Veretye culture of the Kunda-Maglemose complex is known from largely ninth millennium BP sites in the Lake Onega region in northwestern Russia. The author concentrates on finds from the well–studied peatbog site of Nizhneye Veretye I, including weapons, tools, numerous bows, ornaments, dwellings, a flint knapping area beyond the dwellings, and wooden sculpture. The cemetery at Popovo is also briefly described, along with the sites of Nizhneye Veretye and Andozero-M.
