Abstract
Fung Pineda "present[s] a synthesis of archaeological data from the central Andean region for the period between 3500 and 800 BC, covering the area's later preceramic phases until the emergence of the Chavín style…This [document] examines developments in social organization and their economic basis, as reflected in the architecture and its patterns" (page 67). Coastal developments are described and compared to the Andean ones. Social differentiation is also examined, mostly as it is reflected in the architecture.
