By: Gai, Pei.

Abstract
The author provides an overview of microlithic assemblages, emphasizing their widespread temporal (from the Middle Paleolithic into the historic period), environmental, and geographical distributions in Asia and northwestern North America. The probable geographical origin of microlithic technology is also discussed. [The author dates the site of Salawusu to 50,000-37,000 BP; newer evidence indicates it pertains wholly to the Middle Paleolithic.]
