Abstract
The authors present a brief discussion of some recent discoveries at the Middle to Late Shang cities of Huanbei and Yinxu (located the modern city of Anyang), and theorize about urbanization processes at Yinxu, home to the kings of the Late Shang. Brief descriptions are given of the layouts of the cities, changes in material culture, and of governance during the Late Shang.
